What is WellCard Health's vision care?
Our vision care is a discount program for eyewear. It is not vision insurance. Members purchase eyewear at participating providers and receive an average discount from 10% to 40% off their purchases. Discounts are also available on eye examinations and vision correction surgery in select areas. Members pay for the eyewear and/or eye care services at the time of purchase.
Is the membership for an individual or family?
The entire immediate family (dependents) is covered by one single membership card issued to the member, making it easy for WellCard Health members to reduce the cost of health care for the entire family.
Do members have to file a claim form?
No. Members receive a discount from their eye care provider at the time of purchase. However, our vision service may be combined with some insured plans that reimburse the employee for their eyewear purchase. In that case, a member can use the vision membership card and then file a claim for the remaining balance. We ask our members to please check with their insurance companies and/or employers for eligibility and benefits.
